Brenden Roder: Pitching Instructor

Prepped at Bishop Heelan Catholic High School with 3 state baseball appearances.

Started collegiate career at Iowa Central Community College and made 15 appearances with a 5-0 record as a freshman... Had a 2.73 ERA in 33 innings pitched as a freshman and earned ICCAC Honorable Mention All-Region. Appeared in four games with a 2-0 record and a 1.78 ERA as a sophomore, before COVID-19 pandemic ended season.

Ended collegiate career at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio highlighted by a 4-3 record Senior year. Posted an ERA of 4.94 in 55 innings pitched.

Has a broad range of pitching instruction from training at both Cressey Sports Performance in Boston, MA and Tread Athletics in Charlotte, NC. Eager to excel the development of young pitchers in the Des Moines Metro.

Justin Denham: Hitting, Fielding, Pitching Instructor for baseball & softball

Coach Justin has an extensive background coaching at the youth level for many years and most recently was the head coach for Des Moines East baseball. He has experience coaching both baseball and softball. Justin feels strongly about focusing on teaching fundamentals with youth players and helping older players learn to fine tune their mechanics and mental approach to playing the game. Even more important, Justin has a passion for helping kids succeed on and off the field and treats all kids like family.

Justin will begin offering lessons in late October.

Softball Lessons

Jess Satterlee : Hitting & Fielding Instructor for Softball

Jess is not your everyday hitting instructor as she did not play softball in college (actually played golf). She has spent the last 7 years coaching at the high school level and now currently at the highest level in travel ball. She is a NFCA certified hitting instructor. Meaning she has spent a ton of time and money to attend clinics all around the country the last few years. She also has a master's degree in Sports Psychology. Not only will she focus on fundamentals, but she always adds in sports performance training in all of her lessons.

Jess will be offering lessons on Thursdays 5 pm - 9 pm.

Soccer Lessons

Marcos Silva: Soccer Instructor

Coach Silva currently serves as an assistant coach for the Grand View University men’s soccer program and previously coached at Graceland University. Alongside his coaching responsibilities, he continues to compete for the Iowa Demon Hawks in the NPSL. During his collegiate career, he captured back-to-back conference championships, made two national tournament appearances, and earned All-Tournament Team honors in his senior season.

Thierry Guedeyi: Soccer Instructor

Thierry is originally from Cameroon, where he grew up playing soccer and developing a lifelong passion for the game. After moving to the United States, he spent 5 years playing with the Iowa State University Club Soccer team. He was also involved with the Demon Hawks NPSL team.

Beyond playing, Thierry has dedicated himself to coaching and youth development. He has led summer soccer programs with the City of Ames, where he discovered a strong passion for helping youth soccer players grow and develop as individuals. He continued on with his goal of helping youth players by joining the Iowa Soccer Development Camp staff where he worked alongside some of the best coaches in the Midwest and was able to help a lot of young players grow and develop their soccer skills

Thierry is excited to bring his experience, energy, and love for the beautiful game of soccer to Champions Training Academy.
